32khz audio, mono, mp3pro, good quality sound with no artefacts, and all with a 17k(!) stream.

How are you doing it?, and can everyone else copy this setup please. 17k is very good for streamer as the p2p distribution very reliable at such a low speed.

Yeah, that's right, I'm using SAM2.
After weeks of trying different things, including OtsDJ, which I love, but I just couldn't get it doing 2 mp3PRO streams with the SAM plugin...

I had tried using a 24k stream for Modem users, but Streamer wouldn't let them connect.
I then put a tip telling Modem listeners to change a few settings to get it to connect, cos if you haven't got enough upload bandwidth (sometimes over 30k with a 24k stream) it won't connect you in the first place.

I only had one stream going at that time, so I really didn't wanna lower the quality of it.
But, once I'd got the Broadband stream going at the same time (48k stereo mp3PRO, sounds luverly..) I tried lowering the Modem stream down to 18k and it's great!

The main thing that keeps the quality high is that I spent ages setting up the Tomass Limiter DSP to get it to keep everything loud, punchy, but without pumping, or affecting the sound too much..

In the end I'm really pleased with it.

By the way, has anyone had any success with the 2.7.8 and 2.7.9 updates?
I couldn't get anything good out of them...
I can't WAIT til the next major update, cos apparently the Voice FX latency will be down to as little as 3ms!!!!!
I can only get down to 100ms, and that's just unusable if you're trying to listen to yourself talking...
And, even at upto 1500ms the audio still clicks ,and is unusable...

I hope this works:

A useful tip is to listen first with "bypass all" switched in, to get used to how the songs are supposed to sound without the limiter on.
If you find you need a bit more "bottom end" then lengthen the "low attack" a bit.
If you want a more aggressive sound then reduce "high attack" all the way to the top, or slide the "process" control up towards the "HARD" setting.
It really depends what sort of music you're playing, but I find the sound far too tiring on the ears if the Limiter can be noticed.
I just try to use it to lift the level of quiet songs, and to make "local band" demos sound like they've been "mastered".
I hope this helps a bit.
