Agreed! 2.05 ROCKS! It sounds great and connects to the audio stream very fast.
My broadcaster setup uses a 4G wireless internet provider (Clear- formerly ClearWire) to send out our stream and I tested it by going to a local library that has 'wired' internet and a WiFi signal to serve the computers in the library. Even with these two wireless links in the mix Streamer found the signal very fast and started playing the audio within 10 seconds. The library had a lot of users on it's internet but I only heard one 'very small' dropout of the audio when it first started playing but then everything was PERFECT from there on, even with the high demand on the library's WiFi router.
One suggestion for the new player (beta 2.05) would be to make it obvious in the interface of where to load a gif (more likely a 'LINK' to an animated gif) that will display in the window of our listeners players when they are listening to our station. I know that it is possible because KYAK does it... It is just not obvious where this needs to be entered, and what 'code' is needed to be entered into the beta 2.05 player/broadcaster interface. The information is not in any of the instructions and I can't find an answer on this forum either.
On the orginal player (non beta), there is a place in the interface where this 'link' information is located. The instruction on your website seem to be for the older broadcaster/player and (to me) it appears that the info is loaded as html in the big box titled "Enter your stations info:" And it appears to load a gif or an animated gif that plays/displays in the main viewer of the player. I have posted in the 'Broadcasters' section of the forum the above question, but if anyone can point me in the right direction, I sure would appreciate any information.
But back to the topic: Iain----- YOU ROCK! Streamer P2P ROCKS!- and so will the world! Looking forward to hearing from you! DJ Alan of Spunk FM 101.9 Seattle
