I found a tutorial I created a while back that might help those wanting to configure Streamer and NSV. The link was lost during the Forum conversion. I updated the link in the "sticky" post at the top of this thread as well.

http://www.planettexas.net/nsvhowto.html

Hope this helps.

Yes the VP6 encoder is still available on the On2 site. Its in the download
section. Here's the link http://www.on2.com/downloads/vp6-decoder/

You can do CBR with VP6.

Winamp 5 has a built in vp6 decoder.

Hi everyone:

Your tutorial is a bit misleading in the sense that VP6 is THE ONLY codec covered. In fact, it even goes so far as to say that people must select VP6 in order for StreamerP2P to even work with NSV.

Suppose someone is happy with VP3? Does that all of a sudden mean that StreamerP2P won't work?

You might want to clarify that and address this in your tutorial. :D

Just a thought :D

Cheers :D

Any codec will work, all Streamer does is move data around the net, it doesn't look inside the data. If the encoder connects to Streamer with the correct header for nsv, it gets broadcast as nsv.
