Here's a quick start reference for configuring Streamer and NSV.

Hi everyone:

For those of us who are new to Streamer but NOT to NSV (like me), do you suppose you could post some screen shots of how to properly configure Streamer 1.39 or point to a website that already has this (the ones I've seen are all for 1.34)??

I've been trying to get my TV station running on Streamer for the last few days now, but have yet to figure how to get Streamer to broadcast for me (especially since I now have XP SP2).

I have NO issues with Slavas' NSV GUI and a reg'lar SHOUTcast server.

Many thanks in advance :P

Cheers for now :P

The configuration as far as Streamer is concerned is still the same.
just use port 8000 (Streamer default) in your NSVCap configuration.

I think if you're still having issues since your SP2 installation it may be due to the XP firewall. It is enabled by default with the installation.
You can either disable the firewall or open up 8466 and 8000 for Streamer.

Thank should do it. :D

Hi everyone:

XP SP2 firewall is turned off and 8466 is opened in Kerio Personal Firewall (which I had been using before).

I'm also using nsvgui 7 connected to a SHOUTcast server. Seems to work now as I am broadcasting, so no need to mess with it now I suppose. :P

In any case, I think it might be helpful if those screen shots were updated, but that's just my opinion :P

Cheers for now :P

The VP6 Decoder is available for personal use on the On2 site.

Here's the link:

I found an old version NSV GUI coder standalone on my 98 machine, I stuck in a folder with NSV tools and it operates nsvscsrc.exe video stream server and got it to connect to streamer p2p and communicating yp and id info, some web app that allows you to preview but havent fiddled with it.. One needs to convert to NSV vp6/mp3 first but this is easy enough. Fast computers can do this fairly quick these days. New tech can bring back old programs back from the dead due to the speed machines are working.

In cant find any of this stuff online easlily any more.
