Just curious if anyone knew weather or not a network admin could detect me streaming or not. Not really sure how they would see it other than a little blip on network traffic, but I was curious!

Hi,
if they (net admin) want to see it they can. It's not possible to hide the connections, opened ports of your machine and so on. They can act like a "man in the middle". Last but not least they can analyze your machine and look for installed programs (if its a company machine). If they realy wan't to block internet access except maybe surfing and mailing (http,https,pop3,smtp,imap) they can use packet filters (Application Layer Packet Classifier) to block all other protocols.

A constant stream of outgoing UDP packets would be a bit of a clue as to what was going on I would think :)
You could try asking your network admin for permission to broadcast, and limit streamer's upload to what the admin allows you. Since this is a p2p system, you only need to get one stream out for it to work, so you could broadcast with just 24k 'allowance'.
