Would it be, or is it possible, to be able to listen to a station on streamer p2p, without having streamer installed on your computer.
I think if there was a way to embed a de-coder or the like into a flash player type set-up which could be placed on a website, it would allow a wider audience to listen to streamer stations. I have a friend who often uses different computers (some which he doesn't have admin permissions on), so can't install streamer on all of the computers, although when he can get to a computer with streamer installed on, likes to listen to stations on streamer.

I was thinking, it would be good to be able to have a streamer stream directly into a flash or java type player, which can be put on your website for instance, allowing people who dont want to, or who can't download and install streamer, to listen in....

If you have enabled unicast in streamerp2p you can reach the stream via

http://<YOUR_IP>:8000/<STREAM_ID>.pls

You have to change the red parts.

You can also see the unicast link at the streamerp2p.com YP (stationlist).

There is a tiny little yellow speaker symbol Image for stations with a unicast stream (number 9).
If not, unicast isn't enabled in your configuration!
as for embedding it in a web player that would depend of the format you're broadcasting

Remember:
  • you have to open (portforward) the streamer audio port (default 8000 TCP) in your router configuration. If not no one can reach your unicast stream from outside (internet).
  • unicast streams saturate your bandwidth (upload, DSL upstream) very fast. You can provide one or two unicast listener slots then a standard DSL upload is saturated!
  • unicast streams are NOT transfered via p2p and you loose all advantages of p2p streaming

sure i could compose an original answer or just copy paste from dt's posts here: http://www.streamerp2p.com/forum/viewto ... f=6&t=2206
