To get the SongRequester to recognize a change of playlist I have to restart Winamp.

Seems to me that I recall that if you login to the administration interface using admin.cgi instead of playlist.cgi and you still have the proper codes in your template for this that one option that is presented is to refresh the song cache. I don't use the SongRequester anymore so I have no real way of testing this right now but I seem to recall that it did work.

The tutorial was from 2004 (!) and doesn't exist anymore.

http://www.oddsock.org/tools/gen_songrequester/
Scroll down the page there is a full documentation of it.

I un-sticky this posting now. Outdated

The links to Planet Texas' tutorial and the link to the Oddsock tutorial are dead now.

Does anybody have this information (instructions and code, etc) anymore?

Fingers crossed :-)

You have to download it from the Oddsock SVN Server. Site is closed now.

http://svn.oddsock.org/public/trunk/gen_songrequester/

There is a file songrequester.html with short instructions. Right click it and "save as" to your computer. Open it with your browser. Pictures are missing but the text will give you a clue. The Pictures are in the SVN as well. Right click and "save as" to the same folder you saved the HTML file.

Here i found a site with a short instruction (at the end of the page) http://2xod.com/articles/setting%20up%20shoutcast/
