I got the DS filter for this... installed it and brought up WMP to try and connect to an ogg vorbis audio stream. No go. In looking through the file types now in WMP, there are a couple of new ones. oga and ogv. audio and video? Have they dropped the ogg extension now?

Video Lan Player and the java player have no problems playing this example stream

http://mirror.fluendo.com:8800/

I tried the direct show filter - but no joy.

My guess is that for windows media / winamp to play this stream - the stream name and extension type needs to be present.

some thing like : http://mirror.fluendo.com:8000/file_name.ogg_file

Winamp / Windows media player are strict about playing streams and require a stream name / extension type.
