In some future version of Sp2p, I'd like to see an option to natively run as a windows service, particularly for serving only. I'm currently doing this by running it through the srvany component in the Windows 2003 Resource Kit, and it works well. However, I need the service to interact with the desktop to get a good status.

In conjunction with this, I'd like to see something a little less crude than the XML stats that are available, something like a browser-friendly HTML output. For broadcasting, I'd like to be able to access a crude HTML page which tells me the current status, how many listeners are connected, and who is connected directly to me. Current flow i/o averages would be nice too.

The info would be great so I can check in on the streamer without the benefit of having it take up a desktop window.

Connects to a simple web interface on your local Streamer, but there are no casting stats there yet.

Most services just hum along quietly in the background and don't need any kind of user interaction. However, before you pointed out that page, I had no idea how to even begin interacting with the streamer outside of the application. However, I pop the program up to make sure everything is running and to see who's connected to me directly. It's no really big deal, but it is nice to know.

Very nice ... the index page does take some of the mystery out of that problem.

It would be nice to allow other machines by IP to get to that page. I can't seem to get it from any other host here.

In Bcast, Sources under the Source DSP there are two checkboxes for Accept Source from **** IP's. Try turning on the one you would like to have access that and see if it works. Though it says source, I believe you can substitue the word 'connections' for the word source. :)

The web interface is currently only accessible from a browser on the same pc, as a security measure. I'll put a lan and 'allowed ip's' list option in when it's done.
