...Shoutcast or Icecast2 streams.
I came home and found SP2P idling :cry:.

Icecast2 log snippet:

Code:
192.168.0.4 - - [13/Aug/2004:17:11:59 +0200] "GET /faziel.ogg HTTP/1.1" 200 756591093 "-" "-" 114508
192.168.0.4 - - [13/Aug/2004:17:11:59 +0200] "SOURCE /faziel.ogg ICE/1.0" 200 879558104 "-" "-" 133015

So Winamp5 + Oddcast prolly lost the connection to Icecast2 and SP2P got cut off. It would be nice if SP2P would try to reconnect at a given interval for a given number of times.

That setting is in your oddcast configuration. Check the box reconnect and set the reconnect seconds on the server tab .

Sorry, I haven't been very precise in explaining my situation:

Winamp5+Oddcast -> Icecast2(linux) -> SP2P 1.39

When Oddcast loses the connection to Icecast2 it reconnects.
However since Icecast2 momentarily lost its source SP2P does so too. The latter however doesn't reconnect to Icecast2 indefinitely and stays on status "No station tuned".

That's where I think my feature request will come in handy :wink:.

OK... agreed that it might be handy, but I gotta ask. WHy do you need the icecast server in the middle?

When I configured Oddcast to stream to SP2P directly Winamp tended to crash sometimes.
This might have something to do with me stacking Crossfade DSP, Sound Solution and Oddcast on top of eachother using DSP stacker.

Now with Icecast2 in the middle I've no problems :?.

I find this solution to be more structured anyway :P.

Oh, I've got this SP2P "disconnecting from Icecast2 (or Shoutcast for that matter) and never reconnecting" problem solved with Aldo's Macro Recorder.
It monitors windownames for displaying "Streamer p2p 1.39" and springs into action by unminimizing SP2P, clicking on bcast, connect and minimize again :).

Yeah I have one of those doing some things here too... Hmmm... ok well thanks for clearing that up. I knew there had to be a reason. It would be interesting to take the icecast server back out of the middle and try it at least with the new version. If you decide to try that, please post your findings for us ok?

So far so good KMeat :).

I've removed Icecast2 from the chain:

Winamp + DSP Stacker ( Sound Solution DSP + Crossfade DSP + Oddcast DSP) -> StreamerP2P 1.39

This setup has been running for 12 hours now and neither Winamp nor SP2P decided to give up on me 8).

This makes my feature request somewhat obsolete or at least not much of a priority :wink:.

I know this is an old, old thread, but I'd like to see auto-reconnect on relay.

The topology is similar:

SAM4 -> IceCast/Shoutcast -> Streamer

However, the reason I'm looking for this is so that there's only one station feed going to the central distributor. While streamer is the only system listed above, I'd like to have some hosted instances of the server, in effect creating a hidden master. I'm hoping this kind of setup could be used with multiple DJs, and it's a lot easier on the bandwidth to have one outgoing stream source to manage instead of two.

I have had crashing problems with something similar... I think it is the stacker not playing well with others. MY solution is to use a regular DSP and then use SQRSoft Crossfade. INSIDE SQRSoft is a DSP Tab... In THERE I place a Stacker with Sound Solution followed by Oddcast. It works okay IF you set it up right. Once it is set, don't play around. The only time it crashes is if I try changing things or during shut down. But that doesn't bother me since I usually shut down only to reboot.

Just thought I would post this FYI.

Kevin
