Could Streamer work through a SOCKS proxy

such as Tor? Or would the propegation method for streaming not be compatible?

i doubt it, but i have not ever tries, how about trying socks cap, and capping streamer with that, i will glady give you a socks proxy to test it with. can

I did try it, but Streamer appeared to ignore it. It isn't like my connection is restricted, and tor provides a port for it to use, but Streamer still showed my real external IP instead of what should have been the IP of the tor node.

Hi, also tried streamer with tor a few weeks ago. You need freecap since streamer has no socks support. http://www.freecap.ru/eng/?p=whatis
Only tor will not work. Good luck

It could indeed work through a socks proxy, or tor, or hamachi, with a little meddling. I was thinking about doing it. One of my original intentions with Streamer was anonymous casting.

Socks & tor would require some of the listeners to have listening TCP ports, not too difficult now that streamer can do Upnp. Tor would also require a very low bandwidth stream, it can usually hardly open a web page.
Could open up a whole new casting scene. Anonymous video streams, a whole can of worms there. Would keep ITFC fans happy ;-)
