Is there an email listserv or newsletter or Yahoo groups or anything for Streamer broadcasters? The reason I ask, is that I usually don't have a lot of need to come to this forum (which in itself is kudos to Ian - it means that the software is really trouble free), but when there's announcements (like a new version) there should be someway for us to get an email about it.

If it already exists on this site, then I apologize in advance for missing it. If not, I can lend a hand setting one up, if need be.

Great idea. We thought about a newletter of sorts a while back but lost personnel to be able to do anything on a regular basis. Perhaps though I will look into setting up just a list server for version notifications. That would be much easier I think.

I would be willing to handle a list serve. I have that option on my server. It would be easy to set up.

'preciate the offer voice but I'm pretty sure that our hosting package has that function in it. I still have to move the emails over to there and plan on doing that very soon. I'll be looking to setup the list server at that time. If for some reason I don't find it with our host, I"ll be in touch.

THanks!

Ok, no problem. I just read that you had lost some personel so I thought you might need some volunteers to take care of it.

BTW, what happened to the IRC links on the STREAMERP2P.COM site? I am having some issues with Streamer that I need help with. There is no one on the channels within Streamer - so I don't know what to do.

Also, seeings how you are in the "admin" loop. I have discovered a little bug in v1.43. It will "crash" if the DSP has not sent a stream to it in 15 minutes or so.

Also, I am dealing with a couple other issues like Streamer showing a ghost IP address and for some reason, I show up on the station listing in Streamer but not on the website.

Later.

1.44 is coming within a few days. Let's see what happens from there forward. Also, you should almost always find someone in the lobby within Streamer that you can at least bounce things off of. I've been extremely busy with a studio moving project this week so I haven't been in the IRC channel.

Thanks for your reply. I did not know if this little "bug" was known or not.

Regarding the IRC channel, the link is not even on the webpage.

Have a good one. I sympathize with the studio move. I have been there and done that. We moved and built an entire radio station back in the early 80's. What sustained us was the excitement of the new facility (and getting out of the old house that they were in originally.

Are the channels in Streamer actually IRC channels or just channels on the Streamer server.

Hmmm... I'll have to check on that and see why it's not showing up.

They use a gnutella based network and are completely decentralizied. You can only use those channels inside of Streamer. They cannot be connected to with an IRC client.
