Dear,
on the Streamerp2p web site the information about the broadcasting configuration are old.

How to configurare Topology? what are the meaning? How to configure security and network?

How to make a web link for listeners that don't like activex?
How to send in a url parameters for streamer (special configuration for some listeners). Thank you very much.

on May 17 we will broadcast a live event from Argentina, a conference about "trascendetal psicoly". Listeners from all the world will tune on our web radio, we are waiting hundreds or more people. What are the possible problems? What the limits? Pls any suggestion.

Thanks
Federico

Lots of questions. The first three of which are easy. Topology other than the default of Tree which is actually Tree Push are not supported at this time, nor are they completed. The meanings of these topologies will be explained in documentation on the website when they are near completion and after further testing. The security functions allow for one to create a private network for their stream and/or to have a subscription based stream. The key signing system for these is not in place yet so as a result they too are unavailable at the moment.

Now, the URLs you need for your cast can be created easily when your cast is running by simply clicking the SAVE URL button in BCAST and Topology tab. This will save URL.TXT with examples of how to do the URL for both the activeX and non-activeX. Non-activeX users will need to download and install Streamer first, and then after it's installed, they may use the url to tune to your broadcast.

The activeX control in our case merely tunes Streamer as above if Streamer is installed, or else will install Streamer into the requesting systems TEMP folder and then tune the given station.

I hope this answers most if not all of your querys and I hope your broadcast is a huge success. Advise users that by the nature of the way the p2p network is formed here it may take some time to connect under some circumstances to your broadcast so both you and the listeners will want to connect early and be patient.

thank you for replies.

I would like to know if statistics reported here http://www.streamerp2p.com/index.php?pa ... h&id=14415 include the unicast listeners.

If the answer is no, how can i know how many unicast listeners i have?

Other question: I have 1020 kb upload bandwidth, streamer made bandwidth test and set to finished max 64000. What to do tu use all my band? Will streamer use all the possible band all stop at 640kb?
I want to give both stream: p2p and unicast, what is the best % for each, consider parameters i gave you?

What streamer does when bandwith finish (for unicast)?

Last question:
when the listeners Check for conventional serving (unicast), their ip can be know by me automatically or I have to aks directelly to them?
This is not automatic function?

Thank you
Federico

That stat is supposed to contain both p2p and unicast listeners yes. The 64000 number is not equal to 640K. I'm not sure WHAT it is exactly but if you set 1024 in your upload and click retest, whatever is left in the upload field after the test completes is what you can use reliably in most cases.

The percentages you set for p2p and unicast really depends a lot on what you want to do. You can set both to 100 if you want and just give out connections on a first come, first served basis... or you can drop your unicast just a little to make sure that you have a few p2p connections always there so you never get full. There are several ways of looking at this.. way too many to go into detail about here.

There is no reporting mechanism in place for reporting IP addresses of connections on either the unicast or p2p side.
