Hi there,

I've been listening to streams for about 6-7 months now, but about a month ago all ogg-streams stopped working. (mp3 streams still works)

I suspected some codec problems and tried reinstalling some stuff, but still no solution. Now i've done a clean reinstallation of windows xp, and to my surprise, the oggstreams STILL won't work.

The streams used to run just fine on my system, but now even on a clean installation nothing can be heard. I've diabled my firewall, Windows Defender and Kaspersky AV, but still no succes.

The codec pack i use is K-lite Full, and i have even tried installing the native Vorbis ogg codecs

Did anyone here ever experience the same problem as me, or has any suggestions for a solution?

Hi,
what player do you use? streamer internal player, winamp ...
The internal player should work. You don't need any codec package.

Hi d-tracks,

I'm using the streamer internal player. I was wondering if my router was blocking the stream, but my laptop plays the streams fine over the same network...and as it is only ogg-streams i cant play, i don't suspect any security settings to be the problem.

When trying to listen to an ogg-stream, the player switches between initializing the player and then stopping over and over again, and at some point the player simply freezes.

hmm strange. Seems to be a machine specific problem.

If you have winamp installed try this:
Config - Audio
* Use external player for ogg vorbis streams
* Auto start external player

Check if winamp can play the ogg streams.

Ok, small update on my problem:
In the meantime ive moved to a new house and i had to change ISP. The weirdest thing is that this has solved my ogg-stream problem!!? In my old appartment my desktop PC wouldnt play the 40+ ogg-streams but my laptop played it just fine. Now ive changed ISP my desktop will play the ogg-streams again which indicates that i had a network-problem before..still i think its VERY weird! I tells you, them computers is all about voodoo magic...pfff all them wires n chips is just for looks. Its all run by magic voodoostones *nods*

But in short: Im happy again and thx loads for all the help :)
