thanks "phat Pizza"

what a great posting

Q-fu'us can only add that:

your statment only functions on "windows media player" isnt entryly correct
because none Windows browsers (such as MAc?linux)
will open the stream in there default player

I beleave it functions because they ignore reference to applications that they dont support
and just read/react-to the:
<embed src="http://x.x.x.x:8000/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.mp3">

note :: if your stream is a .pls.. (not .mp3)
you need to specify <embed type="audio/x-scpls" src="someurl/streamname.pls"
for 100% compatibility.
as this will insure the non-windows browser only opens a player capable of playback of a live stream

There is another way to get the Unicast URL...

On the streamerp2p home page; right-click the speaker icon, and copy the link location (at least that's in Firefox, not sure about Internet exploder's abillity to copy a URL)

You can then paste the link into the appropriate HTML code:

<a ref ,etc,,,

I warn my listeners that it's a limited bandwidth link so don't abuse it

Oh, and you can get any player to play it even if it's not an mp3 stream- just replace the pls with the correct suffix for your stream. ogg, whatever.

As long as the listener has the codec, they're good to go. I did have one listener mention that they had to manually start paly by using the .ogg link; I suspect it has to do with how the player's defaults are set...

Please don't ask the same stuff in two treads. Read my answer here:

Understand the difference between P2P and unicast, check your configuration, port forward the right port. I think after this your unicast feed should work.
