You need the latest oddcast plugin to broadcast OggVorbis with Icecast2
download here: http://www.oddsock.org/tools/dsp_oddcast/
or http://www.oddsock.org/tools/oddcastv2_wa2/
- Start WinAmp
- Select your oddcastDSP in the WinAmp prefs (ctrl p) dsp/effects
- Press 'Config' in the oddcast plugin]***
- Select your mode
- 'Use Lame Options'
- Server Location : 'Shoutcast'
- Server(IP): localhost or 127.0.0.1 or your local ip address like 192.168.0.1
- Port: default is 8465 = default Streamer 'TCP local audio port' minus 1 (8466-1=8465)
- Password: same as in streamer
- 'Use Ogg Vorbis'
- ConfigExample: (channels:mono | sampling rate: 22050 Hz | Quality settings: -1) = (streamer rate: 24ogg)
will create a stream with (nominal bitrate:16)
(see also: Some Nominal 'translations' in mono) - Server Location : 'Icecast 2'
- Server(IP): localhost or 127.0.0.1 or your local ip address like 192.168.0.1
- Port:default is 8466 = same as in Streamer 'TCP local audio port'
- Password: same as in streamer
- Check 'Auto Reconnect' and set to 3 Seconds( or what you want)
- Mount Point: /brb.ogg (you can type /whatyouwant.ogg)
- Press OK
- Start Streamer (Set the up and download settings!)**
- Start your source from the line in
- Click the 'Adv Rec' Button in oddcast and wait 5-10 sec
- Click 'Connect' in oddcast
- Your Broadcast should start (when the plugin stops connecting, let it first run a while or/and klick the 'Configure' Button in Streamer)
No success? Close your Streamer and start by step1
You must control the volume settings from your external source, do not make the volume to loud,
the encoder drops out, if your line in signal is to high!
**Streamer minimum up down settings
with a 24kb Broadcast your listeners need at least 27(up and down settings) to reseive your signal
and a min of 33(up and down) is recommend for broadcasting.

***Hint: Sometimes the old oddcast plugin 'forgets' to load the config! (the oddcast set Quality Mode back to 0)
When you plan to broadcast, always open your 'oddcast config' first, to be sure that your corect settings are loaded.
If you wanna broadcast multiple streams with different bitrates, use one WinAmp with a line in plugin instead of the Adv Record function of oddcast.(and a dsp stacker for the two oddcast_dsps)
If you wanna do some Voice over like a radio moderator try:
